The Project Construction Leader will be responsible for setting up and leading CAPEX projects from inception and feasibility, through to design and specification and final handover.
Role Description
Set-up and manage Multi-Functional Project Teams to deliver projects in accordance with internal requirements and compliance to AIRBUS procedures.
1. Lead MFTs through the detailed design of Building Services for a range of projects including major plant replacement and refurbishment works.
2. An awareness of the associated maintenance and operation of engineering services including condition surveys, service delivery audits and preparing plant replacement/life cycle plans would be a distinct advantage.
3. Application of industry standard design and calculation software.
4. Liaising with clients, architects and other design team members.
5. Preparation of reports, drawings and specifications.
6. Developing and maintaining excellent client relationships.
7. Project management of suitable projects, excellent communication skills.
8. Monitoring/ Audit/ Validate progress of Professional Service Work Packages, and works on site and observance of technical compliance and H&S matters.
Responsibilities
1. Develop, update/manage and monitor a project delivery plan.
2. Identify and manage risks and opportunities.
3. Manage CAPEX business cases from preparation through approval to delivery and project close.
4. Develop detailed design briefs for Building Services design for a range of projects including major plant replacement and refurbishment works.
5. Skilled and competent in IT tools, able to produce and present documentation, reports, technical analysis, cost reports. Experience in SharePoint / MS Project / G suite highly preferred.
6. Application of industry standard design and software.
7. Liaising with clients, architects and other design team members.
8. Preparation of reports, drawings and specifications. Able to prepare and manage project external costs from request through approval to completion.
9. Developing and maintaining excellent client relationships.
10. Project management of suitable projects.
11. Monitoring of installation works on site and observance of technical compliance and H&S matters.
Skills & Attributes
1. Ability to lead, motivate and manage a Multi-Functional Project Team (MFT); including external professional staff, i.e. contract managers, client CDM, QS etc.
2. Previous experience ideally within FM as in a senior PM role.
3. Experience in Capital Investment Project management, and project delivery is required.
4. ONC / HNC or equivalent in a Building Engineering Services design-related discipline.
5. Previous experience of Building Engineering Services Refurbishment in existing buildings with particular emphasis on delivering small to medium sized projects.
6. Demonstrable experience of taking projects from inception and feasibility, through design and specification to site monitoring and handover.
7. Ability to develop client brief into construction requirements, including scopes for External Professionals, i.e. architect, structural engineer, systems designers.
8. A good practical understanding of mechanical and electrical plant, systems and equipment in relation to engineering design, operation and maintenance across a wide range of sectors and building types.
9. Previous experience working within a consultancy environment.
10. Hold relevant level of professional membership i.e. CIBSE, IMechE, IET.
11. Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders.
12. Responsible for assuring safety, security and ethical compliance i.a.w. company requirements.
