We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Primary School SENDCO (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator) to champion inclusion and safeguarding, ensuring that the school's values and ethos are embedded in all aspects of student support.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that students of determination (SofD) make progress in line with, or exceeding, expectations by working collaboratively with teachers and support staff. They will lead the assessment and provision for students facing barriers to learning, ensuring full access to the curriculum.
A key aspect of the role includes implementing and managing effective processes for monitoring, evaluating, and developing SofD provision. The SENDCO will also manage staff and resources efficiently, adapting to the evolving needs of students while maintaining close collaboration with the pastoral team to provide a holistic approach to student wellbeing. Additionally, they will line manage designated support staff, offering professional guidance and facilitating regular meetings. A strong commitment to developing and enhancing teaching practices within the Thrive Department is essential.

REQUIRED CANDIDATE PROFILE:
* Native-level English language skills
* Bachelor’s degree in Education/Special Needs Education or a bachelor’s degree with a Postgraduate Certificate in Education with QTS or equivalent
* Additional qualifications including the National Award for SEN Coordination is desired
* Understanding of KHDA’s Inclusive Education Policy Framework (2017)
* Minimum 3 years’ experience working with SEN or inclusion focused roles
* A track record of outstanding teaching and learning and an ability to create a caring and nurturing classroom environment
