We are seeking a committed IT minded colleagues to join our experienced team of in-house database specialists, supporting the maintenance and improvement of the Society’s core system, JADE. The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in learning how our core systems operate, while also being passionate about their own development within IT and driven to improve the digital journeys of our colleagues and customers. Core System Administration: Administer, monitor, and maintain the core environments that support our core system, based on JADE software (Jade Platform - A faster, clever way to build software). ensuring high availability, performance, and security. Performance Optimization: Regularly reviewing resource metrics and optimising core system structures to ensure optimal system performance and efficiency. Backup and Recovery: Understand and test backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and business continuity. Security Management: Understand and maintain the core system security policies, user access controls, and data encryption to safeguard sensitive information. Troubleshooting & Support: Provide second-line support for core system-related issues, working closely with internal teams to resolve incidents and problems quickly. Database Upgrades & Patching: Supporting core system upgrades, patches, and releases to ensure systems are up-to-date and secure. Collaboration: Work with Senior Platform Specialists and stakeholders to design and implement core system solutions that align with business needs. Documentation: Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation for core system configurations, processes, and procedures. What Do We Need From You? To succeed in this role being experienced with the following would be advantageous but not essential. A strong desire to learn and develop the skills required to support our core systems Experience or understanding of Azure, Powershell, Scripting and automation would be preferred but not essential. A good level of IT literacy would be essential. Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills would preferable. An ability to work in a fast-paced environment. An understanding of the Scaled Agile framework and SCRUM would be advantageous.
