Door Engineer South East (Milton Keynes, Essex, Kent, London) Salary: £16 - £20 per hour, depending on experience The company Established almost twenty years ago as a one-man operation, the business has experienced consistent year-on-year growth. They are now on the verge of moving into new premises, which will be double the size of their current location, to accommodate their expanding operations. They employ 24 dedicated professionals, including 14 engineers and 10 office staff. The company's staff retention rate is exceptionally high; they've only had one engineer leave voluntarily, and that was due to relocation to a region they don't cover. The business model is primarily service-based, with 85% of operations focused on service and 15% on installation. They have built strong relationships with facilities management companies and handle a diverse range of products. These include automatic doors from brands like Geze, Record, and Dorma, as well as gates and barriers using products from BFT, Faac, Frontier Pitts, Avon, and Eagle Automation. Additionally, they manage various roller shutters, sectional doors, and high-speed doors, covering almost everything except speed lanes and revolving doors. They have a small workshop for minor fabrication but do not manufacture their own products. Their work is concentrated mainly in London and its surrounding areas, accounting for 80% of their projects. The business is ADSA and DHF accredited, and they are committed to investing in training for all engineers and office staff. Our client is expanding their operations across the South East, including Milton Keynes, Essex, Kent, and London. They are looking for dedicated Door Engineers to take on the critical responsibilities of installing, servicing, and repairing automatic doors, gates, shutters, and barriers. The ideal candidate is someone with a solid background in the door industry, who is looking for a stable and rewarding role. Key Responsibilities: Installation, servicing, and repair of automatic doors, gates, shutters, and barriers. Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues efficiently. Providing high-quality customer service and maintaining strong client relationships. Ensuring all work complies with industry standards and safety regulations. Experience and Qualifications: Proven experience with automatic and industrial doors is essential. Experience with gates and barriers is highly desirable. Relevant qualifications, such as EN 16005, CSCS Card, NVQ Level 2 in Industrial Door Maintenance, IPAF, and PASMA, are preferred. Strong technical understanding of products and a customer-focused approach.Perks and Benefits: Competitive hourly rate between £16 and £20, depending on experience. 40-hour workweek with door-to-door pay included. Overtime opportunities with enhanced pay rates: 4:30pm - 9pm: 1.5x pay 9pm - 6am: 2.0x pay 6am - 8am: 1.5x pay £50 per week callout standby fee (1 week in every 8) Annual salary review plus review after 6 months. 22 days of holiday plus statutory holidays, with potential for additional days. Yearly bonus scheme (1.5% of salary including overtime worked over the year).
