Production Supervisor - Moreton-in-Marsh

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Production Supervisor is responsible for supervising a dedicated sub-department (in this case, food prep in the Black Barn), carrying out production and preparation duties to the highest possible standards as well as ensuring that Production Assistants under their supervision fulfil their own roles to their required standards.
We produce up to 30,000 units per week of hand-cooked products, all of which utilise the best quality organic ingredients, much of which is produced on our very own farm, with all meat being supplied by our own abattoir.
SALARY: 13.15 per hour
HOURS: Full-time, 45 hours per week
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Oversee the execution of all products as per company specifications
* Ensure that all food preparation is completed in a timely and professional manner
* Adhere to the organic standards set out by the Soil Association
* Contribute to the award-winning standard of all Daylesford Organic products
* Propose and develop new products to deliver exciting innovation to our consumers
* Ensure that all ingredients are prepared, weighed and measured ready for production
* Supervise the team in ensuring that all food production duties are carried out with care and diligence to guarantee the production of a consistently high standard of product
* Ensure that Production Assistant colleagues are following the correct due diligence and traceability procedures
* Ensure that all tasks are completed efficiently within the timeframe given
* Work safely and efficiently to ensure that all daily orders are completed at the required fulfilment rate
* Minimise wastage levels as much as possible
* Comply with the production unit's internal and external audit requirements
* Aid the Production Unit Manager in the fulfilment of the production unit's annual financial/budgetary targets
* Complete all mandatory training courses within the required timeframe
* Assist in the line management, development and motivation of the Production team
* Act as a strong Daylesford Organic ambassador, representing a strong example of dedication, collaboration and hard work
* Work to develop Production Assistants into the Production Supervisors of the future

SKILLS YOU WILL BRING
* A strong eye for detail to ensure accuracy and precision
* A good understanding of legal food safety and health & safety requirements
* A passion for/knowledge of quality cooking and/or food production
* The ability to work independently following existing processes and recipes/specifications
