SEMH Learning Support Assistant (LSA) - Southampton/Eastleigh Your New Role We are excited to offer the opportunity for a Learning Support Assistant with a passion for helping students with Special Educational Needs (SEN). This full-time position, starting ASAP, comes with a competitive daily rate of £90 - £100 and the chance to make a real impact in a student’s life. As an SEN LSA, you’ll provide hands-on support, ensuring students have the necessary tools and assistance to thrive academically and socially. Working closely with teachers, you will play a key role in supporting students on their learning journey and helping to create an inclusive environment where every student can succeed. What You’ll Do Day-to-Day Support Individual & Small Group Learning: Assist students with a range of SEN to engage with lessons and reach their full potential. Work Closely with Teachers: Collaborate with teaching staff to adapt lesson plans and ensure students are supported within the classroom. Encourage Student Progress: Use strategies and techniques to support students’ academic, social, and emotional development. Create a Positive Learning Environment: Help foster a classroom atmosphere where all students feel valued and supported. Monitor and Report Progress: Keep track of students’ progress and contribute to reports, offering insights for further development. Who We’re Looking For We’re looking for a patient and caring individual who is dedicated to helping students with SEN. Experience: Experience in a school setting or with SEN students is beneficial but not essential. Communication Skills: Strong communication skills to engage effectively with students and staff. Empathy: You must have a compassionate approach and the ability to connect with students. DBS Required: A current DBS is essential for this role, or you must be willing to obtain one.
