My client is a world-renowned Engineering Consultancy that offers a variety of services to prestigious and local companies. Due to securing several new projects, their Leeds office is looking to bring in a Principal Structural Engineer who will be critical to the successful delivery of projects within budget and timescales.
As the team grows, this role may include responsibility for leading a small team of engineers and designers. The initial requirements will involve managing the delivery of projects, acting as discipline lead within a multidisciplinary team, and maintaining client contact to ensure that project delivery meets the client's objectives and requirements.
You will ensure that the technical content of all work is correct and completed in accordance with agreed timescales and budgets. Your project delivery tasks may include calculations, drawings, sketches, and reports. You will also be required to provide technical guidance, support, and training to colleagues, assist in mentoring and development of others, and work closely with colleagues from other disciplines.
Knowledge of design in common building materials, including steel, concrete, timber, and masonry, is essential. Experience in geotechnical engineering and designing foundations is also required. You should have experience in preparing and checking well-presented design calculations, notes, reports, and general correspondence, as well as an understanding of how other building engineering factors may influence the successful implementation of your design ideas.
You will be conversant with Eurocodes and leading industry analysis and design software, possess in-depth knowledge of both Tekla and Revit, and have experience working within a 3D design environment with the ability to work to BIM protocols.
This role would suit a Chartered (or near Chartered) Structural Engineer with a minimum of 7 years post-graduate UK experience.
This position offers a flexible work-from-home policy and a unique opportunity to grow your own team in the future.
