We are seeking a highly motivated individual to fill this part-time vacancy within the Academic Services section of the University of Bath Library. Although supporting all areas of Academic Services work, this position is currently based primarily within the Library's Science Subject Team. The Science team comprises one Faculty Librarian, two Subject Librarians, one part-time Information Librarian plus this position. About the role As an Information Librarian you will be responsible for answering information, resource and skills related enquiries from library users at all levels, through our online enquiry management service, in person and through other online tools. assist Faculty and Subject Librarians in preparing and delivering library induction and information skills teaching, for online and in-person delivery, and will have opportunity to design, plan and deliver training sessions yourself. support the Faculty and Subject Librarians in all areas of collection development, management and promotion, and provide advice and guidance to teaching staff on creation of reading lists. assist in preparing library guidance, teaching and publicity materials, in a variety of formats including for our website (LibGuides), the University’s VLE, and Library social media. work closely with colleagues across the Library, and have opportunity to contribute to development work through participation in task and finish and special interest groups. deputise for Subject and Faculty Librarians at academic department meetings when needed. About you You should be innovative and collaborative in your work, with excellent communication skills and good attention to detail. Applicants should have a CILIP accredited qualification in librarianship or information studies or equivalent, to at the least degree level, or clear commitment to completion if not yet awarded.
