We are looking for an experienced Workflow Coder, Trainer and Auditor to join our 3 practices in Selsey, Cathedral and Tangmere.
Main duties of the job
Working at all 3 sites is a requirement of the role. The successful candidate will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of incoming documents and correspondence to the practices, liaising effectively with all relevant colleagues.
The role includes leading on training, audit and continuous improvement of workflow coding for the three GP practices. You will also be required to provide administrative cover across the sites during periods of leave.
The position is full time with hours being split across the 3 practices. The position requires you to be able to work at any of the sites as required.

The 3 practices currently have a combined list size of around 30,000.
Job responsibilities
Coding:
1. Process practice correspondence (paper & electronic) attaching it to the patient record where appropriate.
2. Read code accurate diagnosis, procedures and investigations, identifying and carrying out actions e.g. contacting patients to make appointments or completing referrals.
3. Identify complex or higher risk areas that require input or knowledge from the clinical team, including Safeguarding issues, working to the agreed Practice protocols.
4. Deal with and action incoming email correspondence.
5. Summarise patient records following practice procedures.
6. Record and report adverse effects accurately and appropriately, informing the practice manager immediately.
Governance:
1. Pro-actively maintain an up to date knowledge of relevant changes to coding practice and systems.
2. Own the workflow coding SOP for each practice, completing reviews, improvements and training as needed to ensure sound clinical governance.
3. Complete periodic quality audit for all coders, liaising with a named GP for clinical input as needed.
4. Run peer support and educational sessions for all coders.
5. Contribute ideas to the continued development and improvement of the service.
6. Attend all relevant training and refresher courses.
7. Train new starters in each practice and maintain necessary documentation for CQC compliance.
