St Mary’s CE Middle School has an exciting job opportunity to join our vibrant and exciting school, which is part of the Wessex Multi-Academy Trust. We are seeking to appoint a Cover Supervisor to join our team. This role is demanding and fast paced and will primarily be classroom based. The Cover Supervisor will supervise and support pupils who are engaged in learning activities during the short-term or unforeseen absence of their usual class or subject teacher. The successful candidate will be able to manage a classroom learning environment and have the ability to manage pupil’s behavior. There will be a requirement to provide cover on the playground for part of the lunchbreak. The role is for 32.5 hours per week across Monday to Friday, on a fixed term basis, which will be kept under review. As care must be taken to avoid unconscious bias and any risk of discrimination, a person who will not on the appointment panel will conduct the searches and will only share information if and when findings are relevant and of concern. The salary quoted is the annual salary for the position at the time of advert. The salary will be paid in equal monthly instalments and will be adjusted at the start of employment and again if leaving part way through the school year to ensure the correct salary is received for the work completed in an academic year.
