We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated ECT Technology Teacher to join a secondary school in Braintree. This full-time, permanent role provides a fantastic opportunity for an Early Career Teacher (ECT) to develop their skills in a supportive and forward-thinking school environment.
As an ECT Technology Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and practical lessons in Design and Technology, inspiring students to develop their creativity, problem-solving skills, and technical knowledge. You will be supported by experienced mentors and professional development opportunities, ensuring a strong foundation for your teaching career.
This role is ideal for a newly qualified or early career teacher looking to start their journey in technology education, with access to comprehensive induction support and ongoing training.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan and deliver engaging and interactive Technology lessons aligned with the national curriculum.
* Teach a range of Design and Technology disciplines, including Product Design, Resistant Materials, Graphics, and Engineering.
* Foster a practical, hands-on learning environment that encourages student creativity.
* Support students in developing technical skills and preparing for GCSE examinations.
* Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the Technology curriculum.
* Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and individualised support.
* Promote safe working practices in a workshop and classroom setting.
* Uphold safeguarding policies and ensure the welfare of all students.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or ECT status.
* A strong knowledge of the Technology curriculum, including practical applications.
* Experience in a secondary school setting is desirable but not essential.
* A passion for delivering engaging and interactive lessons.
* Excellent communication, organisation, and classroom management skills.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
