Purpose of role: To maximise the performance of Halifax–Fans (UK) Manufacturing Operations. Quality, Cost, Delivery & Safety (QCDS) responsibilities Quality: Zero Tolerance for delivered Quality Defects Cost: Minimise cycle time from MPS scheduling date to product delivery date Delivery: Meet MPS agreed delivery dates for all orders Safety: Ensure compliance to the Companies HS Policy. Also ensure the process, tools and capacities utilised to manufacture a given design, N EVER compromise safety Key Requirements and Responsibilities: Lead the development of the manufacturing process. Requires a passion for Metal Forming, Fabrication and Welding. Own the Master Production Schedule. Through leadership and example ensure tactical commitment to its achievement Develop a User level of expertise in the use of SAP Ensure absolute discipline to the transactional disciplines dictated by SAP Establish and maintain a paperless environment centred on the working process dictated by SAP, the Configurator and design tools. In conjunction with other plant managers, maintain all applicable work instructions and procedures and ensure discipline in their use. Through the identification and removal of all non-value activity and use of Value Stream Mapping: Drive reduction in the hours required to produce Product Drive reduction in the total fulfilment cycle time Demonstrate a constant improvement in the operational use of Working Capital Line management of the Production Team members Engage all employees to establish a no compromise 5S Environment. Maintain a no compromise, SAFE, work environment for all employees Understand the legal obligations for Health and Safety and ensure they are met Work with a suitable third party safety organization (e.g. the British Institute for Safety) to ensure understanding of the companies HSE obligations This is a senior role requiring Cross Functional working skills Knowledge, Skill or Ability required Technical, Engineering or Business degree (preferred) Working aptitude for using business software applications and systems Minimum of 5 years Operations Management experience. Ability to assess and coach/educate others to the competencies required by them so they can carry out their duties as defined.
