Are you passionate about teaching students the skills of cooking, design, and creativity? Do you have a passion for both food technology and textiles? We’re looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Food technology/ textiles teacher to join the team in a secondary school based in Braintree.
Key Responsibilities:
* Teach Food Technology and Textiles to secondary school students.
* Develop exciting and engaging lesson plans that promote practical skills in cooking, nutrition, and design.
* Encourage creativity and innovation through design and making projects in both food and textiles.
* Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment.
* Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to help them improve.
* Work collaboratively with the department to plan and deliver cross-curricular projects and events.
* Inspire students to reach their full potential.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a specialisation in Food Technology, Textiles, Design & Technology, or a related field.
- Experience working within education.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods and resources to meet the diverse needs of students.
- GCSE or equivalent at grade C (Pass) or above.
- A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting students' academic and emotional development.
- Strong knowledge of food science, cooking techniques, textiles and design.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Passion for teaching and inspiring students in practical and creative subjects.
