Key Responsibilities
1. Support the well-being of the people we support, recording and reporting progress, and implementing care plans.
2. Promote leisurely activities in-house and in the community.
3. Provide personal care, including hair washing, verbal prompts for hygiene, menstrual care support, and linen management.
4. Assist with life skills such as cooking, cleaning, and maintaining the home and vehicles.
5. Manage behaviors that challenge, including physical aggression and property damage, with appropriate strategies and training.
6. Participate in walking, swimming, and other activities that support the individuals' goals.
7. Collaborate as part of a team to ensure daily tasks are completed efficiently.
Mandatory Requirements
To excel in this role, you must:
1. Be female.
2. Have a valid driver’s license and be able to operate manual vehicles.
3. Have at least one year of experience in an adult social care setting.
4. Have completed training in:
4.1 Autism
4.2 Ligature/Self-Harm Awareness
4.3 Behaviors that Concern Others
4.4 Positive Behavior Support (PBS)
4.5 Physical Intervention
4.6 Medication Administration
5. Be experienced in supporting mental health needs, including ligatures, headbanging, cutting, psychosis, and EUPD.
6. Have experience managing behaviors that challenge, including physical aggression and property damage.
7. Be proficient in digital care planning systems (e.g., Access Care).
8. Be fluent in English (speaking, reading, and writing).
9. Be comfortable providing personal care and handling tasks like menstrual care and hygiene prompts.
10. Be willing to handle household tasks (e.g., cooking, cleaning, vehicle maintenance).
11. Be physically fit to engage in walking, swimming, and other active pursuits with the individuals.
