Skilled Worker

40 hours per week – Monday to Friday – 8:00am to 4:30pm
We are looking for a Skilled Worker to join our Operations team of 26 based in Paignton. As a Skilled Worker you will be responsible for providing an effective maintenance and repairs service that meets contract and customer expectations. Working alongside other Operatives, the role will include collecting rubbish, moving materials, fetching and carrying, ground works, fencing, laying slabs, painting, general works across lots of sites in the TQ area.
The role of Skilled Worker will include:
- Carrying out construction, fault fixing and maintenance duties to help the Operatives on site
- Ensuring tools and equipment are maintained in good condition and stocks are replenished as needed
- Providing accurate and timely information on progress of jobs
- Collection of rubbish and debris from work areas and dispose in the skip
- Ferrying of materials to and from the work area
- Assisting the operatives with works occasionally and any lifting etc
- Collection and transportation of larger materials on occasions
Skills and experiences:
- To ensure full compliance with health and safety legislation, candidates applying for this role must be qualified to NVQ Level 2 in core subject, NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing if plumbing is core skill or currently undertaking the qualification. If you have a lower level qualification along with practical experience and would be prepared to undertake this qualification with the support of Sanctuary Group, we would still welcome an application
- Relevant experience in a similar role
- Working knowledge of the application of Health and Safety legislation
- Demonstrable experience of working to deadlines and prioritising work loads
- Ability to use and update computerised systems (including PDA) for work scheduling
- Good communication skills
- This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence
