Maternity Leave FTC Registered Veterinary Nurse - Canterbury, Kent

Practice: Part of a group - This is a purpose-built practice in the heart of the countryside in Canterbury, Kent. With excellent transport links and is situated just 10 minutes from the City of Canterbury and 30 minutes from the port of Dover and the euro tunnel at Folkestone.
Team: Currently, their team consists of 5 Veterinary Surgeons (including a Clinical Director) supported by 8 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 1 Student Veterinary Nurse, 4 Receptionists, and a Practice Manager. One of their vets is an advanced practitioner in Feline Medicine and our Clinical Director holds a certificate in Emergency Critical Care.
Facilities: They have state-of-the-art equipment including digital x-ray, dental X-ray, orthopedic equipment, laser unit, ultrasound, endoscopy, and their separate rehabilitation unit with their water treadmill. Their main clinic consists of 4 consultation rooms and a large reception waiting area. They have separate dog and cat wards and a separate isolation ward. Also, they have a separate cat clinic that consists of 2 consultation rooms, a prep area, and a waiting area, and is ISFM Silver accredited.
Role: An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join their close-knit team on a fixed-term basis to cover Maternity Leave - 40 hours per week for 12 months.
Hours: They appreciate that work-life balance is important and so the position is Monday-Friday with 1:6 Saturday shifts (8 am-5 pm) and the weekday shifts are 10-hour shifts 4 days a week or 8-hour shifts 5 days a week. The earliest start time would be 8:00 am and the latest finish time is 8:00 pm. There is no out-of-hours or on-call.
Duties: There will be various shift roles including clinics, dispensaries, theatres, and in-patients. They encourage the sharing of CPD and best practices and hold regular M&M meetings to ensure that they are delivering the best care for both their patients and clients. The welfare of their team is very important to them, and they constantly strive to ensure a good work-life balance and supportive working environment.
Salary: The salary for the role is up to £30,000 p/a depending on experience.
