Our client is a well-established international freight forwarder who is now looking for an experienced Sea Freight Imports/Export Clerk to join their growing Bradford branch.
For over 150 years, my client has been handling export and import shipping requirements throughout Europe and Worldwide. Their reputation is based on their caring, customer-focused service and competitive pricing.
We are now looking for an experienced Sea Freight Import/Export Freight Coordinator handling the full sea freight export/import cycle from start to finish.
Working within a busy sea freight forwarding operation, the successful applicant would be required to liaise with clients, handle quotations, complete documentation, and manage the process up to final delivery, including customs procedures.
Duties
1. Taking sea freight bookings by telephone and email.
2. Providing quotations for new and existing clients.
3. Completing import and export documentation and negotiating rates.
4. Dealing with customer queries and complaints.
5. Liaising with overseas agents.
6. Invoicing.
Qualifications & Skills
Previous experience in sea freight imports/exports movements is essential. You must have a good telephone manner and be able to work as part of an established team as well as on your own initiative. A good level of education and being computer literate are required. Full training will be given in the use of our in-house system.
Benefits
Salary: £25,000 to £34,000. The position is full-time, with hours Monday to Friday 9am - 5.30 pm and a 1-hour lunch break. You will receive 20 days holiday to start, plus 8 bank holidays. There is a company bonus scheme paid annually and car parking on site.
