About the role
Operations is at the heart of everything DHL eCommerce does, and automation is one of the ways we optimise our processes. As a Network Automation Manager, a major activity will help ensure that our parcel automated systems are working at their best so that our customers get their orders on time. These activities could include planning, procurement, commercial, contractual, financial, documentation, stakeholder management, and risk & issue management.
As a Network Automation Manager, you’ll be the network expert when it comes to keeping key parcel automated systems running smoothly. You will be working with our automation machinery, from conveyors to sortation systems, and ensuring they are working efficiently. If something has gone wrong or can be done better, you will take the lead in coming up with and implementing a solution.
Helping site management teams around the country develop the site layouts to improve productivity, procure new equipment alongside your colleagues from GBS, and then project manage the installation of this equipment.
This is an ideal role for those looking to develop into more senior project management roles. This role puts you at the forefront of DHL eCommerce's emerging technology to solve complex productivity challenges.
Key Responsibilities
* Monitor, troubleshoot and repair issues with key systems
* Work with GBS in the procurement of new equipment
* Provide data visualisations of troubleshooting to internal stakeholders
* Own or actively participate in continuous improvement projects
* Work with different departments to ensure all systems are correctly documented and that accurate backup libraries are maintained
* Work with global providers to install and commission new equipment
* Interpret mechanical and electrical drawings, and develop improvement strategies.
The ideal candidate will have:
* Relevant experience with PLC-controlled automation and issue diagnosis in a continuous process or production environment
* Relevant experience supporting different conveyors and sortation systems
* Relevant experience dealing with material handling, flow and capacity visualisation, and monitoring
* Experience with at least one of the following tools: Microsoft Office, project management tools
* Advanced proficiency in verbal and written English and local language
* Experience working within ISO 13849 and ISO 62061 frameworks
* Experience working in a multi-site environment
* Project management experience
* Using professional process management practices in Lean and Six Sigma, including GEMBA, 5S, NPA, Performance Dialogs, 5 Whys
* Supplier relationship building
