Main Purpose of the Role
Responsible for supporting the Commercial Finance function in Delivering Financial Planning, Costing, Pricing and Financial Reporting to the business. Liaising with Cross Functional colleagues, across a range of departments; including senior management to support Sales and Gross Margin budgeting and forecasting in line with planned timetable.
Preparation of bids in relation to agreed deadlines, monitoring and awareness of Gross Margin information. Assist in the regular forecasting, budgeting and reporting in relation to Sales/ COS and Gross Margin, with an awareness of other commercial risk factors and financial considerations.
Acts as financial interface to the Bid Management team and Procurement to support Bid Delivery.
Support monthly preparation of Financial Planning information, as necessary and support innovation of new reporting and solutions. Proposing change and innovation in order to contribute as a collective team to an efficient Commercial Finance Service for the business.
Expected to be able to prepare reports and offer Financial awareness independently. Requires level of autonomous problem solving, but with support available from the broader Finance team.

The role requires :
9. Recently qualified or working towards Financial Qualification (ACCA or CIMA) with financial and commercial awareness
10. Strong analytical skills (Including Excel and ideally experience of Distributed Products, Manufacturing and BI analysis experience) with an understanding of how to build effective reporting structures and illustrative information that enables stakeholders to easily make decisions to drive efficient and effective financial outcomes.
11. An ability to influence the senior budget holders to drive the right performance and behaviours.
12. Commercial Finance responsibility as well as high level of confidentiality, with the ability to recognise risk and opportunity in Commercial Proposals.
13. Ability to develop costing and pricing models to support Customer Facing and Internal requirements of the business.
14. Contribution to analysis of Forecasting and Financial Reporting, highlighting key variances and providing intelligent commercial commentary.
15. Requirement to take the lead on ad-hoc problems and to be able to take on a range of projects, from such as: Pricing of New Business proposals, Financial Performance Analysis, New Reporting Designs, with support and guidance from Commercial Finance Management and Leadership, as required.
Qualifications & Education
Essential:
16. Degree qualified (or equivalent experience)
17. Recently qualified or working towards a professional accountancy qualification (ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
Experience & Proven Ability Required
Essential:
18. Financial and commercial awareness gained working in a Commercial/ Commercial Finance or similar role.
19. Strong analytical skills with an understanding of how to build effective reporting structures that enables colleagues to clearly understand their sales and commercial proposals, costs and to support and drive business improvement, financially and commercially.
20. An ability to influence the senior budget holders to drive the right performance and behaviours.
21. Strong fiduciary responsibility as well as high level of confidentiality
22. Highly IT literate with experience in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
23. Familiarity working with MRP systems, ideally SAP
24. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to negotiate with both internal and external stakeholders
25. Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
26. Positive, Pro-active and self-sufficient attitude
