Position: Assistant Distillery Manager
Type: Permanent
Nine Twenty are thrilled to be partnering with our client in the distilling industry to find their next Assistant Distillery Manager. In this role, the successful candidate will serve as the deputy to the Distillery Manager, ensuring that all critical management and compliance responsibilities are effectively supported in their absence.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage stakeholders are crucial for this position. We are seeking candidates who are either already operating at a similar level or experienced Operators ready to take the next step in their career.
Responsibilities include:
* Supervision of all distillery operations
* Adherence to strict quality standards & process parameters ensuring safe systems of work are monitored and maintained throughout the site whilst maintaining cleanliness & hygiene
* Liaise with internal & external visitors and regulatory bodies
* Preparation & issuing of permits to work; writing & reviewing health & safety documentation (e.g., risk assessments, SOPs)
* Maintain site security in line with Excise standards
* Maintain distillery records & prepare reports including monthly HMRC submissions
* Managing employee absence & staff cover
* Lead on Continuous Improvement and drive this across the teams
* Monitor losses, energy & water usage, carrying out investigations & reporting
* Identify maintenance requirements across the site
Skills required:
* Experience working within a distilling environment
* Excel experience is preferred
* SAP & DRAMS experience would be beneficial
* Experience working with Risk Assessments & Safe Working Practices including H&S Legislation
* Compliance experience including HMRC, HACCP, and Internal Auditing
* Strong continuous improvement experience
* Ability to provide technical advice & control of distillery processes
