"The role is rewarding and satisfying when I can see learners achieve and I feel without the additional support they may not have achieved it."
"Every year is new and different. My job changes with each new learner. By removing barriers and allowing learners to access education, I change lives."
"There are multiple campuses that you can go to, so you are not limited to one place. Staff are really friendly and get on well with each other. I like seeing how the learners progress throughout the year and you get to see how much you have impacted their learning in a positive way."
"For me I enjoy witnessing the progression of the learners with their independence and their enjoyment for learning."
Responsibilities include:
1. Providing person-centred support to individuals and groups of learners that fosters independence and resilience.
2. Contributing and participating in annual person-centred reviews for learners with statutory plans, such as Individual Development Plans (IDP).
3. Acting as a role model, champion, and advocate for learners with ALN or LDD.
4. Working with staff and other professionals to promote learner independence.
5. Ensuring learners are safe and always supported.
