To be responsible for the read coding of relevant information into patients' electronic healthcare records on the EMIS clinical system, in line with the organisations coding policy. In addition, the post holder will be responsible for the full patient registration pathway from initial registration to processing deductions ensuring accuracy and adherence to relevant procedures. The role will also involve providing administrative support to the multi-disciplinary team as required, in line with the needs of the organisation.

Job responsibilities
The following are the core responsibilities of the Medical Registration Clerk. There may, on occasion, be a requirement to carry out other tasks, depending on workload and staffing levels:
Primary Responsibilities
1. Managing the full patient medical records pathway from registration through to deduction on the EMIS clinical system, ensuring accuracy and adherence to practice protocols
2. Reviewing records and accurately producing a summary of the patients medical history
3. Accurately read coding data on EMIS
4. Reviewing progress of summarising to ensure practice targets are achieved
5. Reviewing all clinical letters and ensuring they are processed appropriately in line with extant protocols
6. Filing and storing records as required
7. Photocopying documentation as needed
8. Actioning all incoming correspondence, emails, and mail in a timely manner
9. Scanning patient-related documentation and attaching scanned documents to patients healthcare records
10. Inputting data into patients healthcare records as necessary
11. Answering incoming phone calls, transferring calls, or dealing with callers requests appropriately
12. Conducting system searches as requested
13. Maintaining a clean, tidy, and effective working area at all times
14. Supporting all clinical staff with general administrative tasks as required
Secondary Responsibilities
1. Review and update the practice summarising policy as required (in conjunction with the Management Partner)
2. Participate in audit work as directed by the audit lead
3. Support reception staff by providing cover during staff absences
4. Book appointments as needed
5. Complete opening and closing procedures in accordance with the duty rota

Qualifications
* Educated to GCSE level or equivalent
* GCSE Mathematics and English (C or above)
* NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care
