The Quality Engineer assists the Regional Quality Manager and performs technical quality assurance activities. They strive to support all customers, both internal and external to the company, in their never-ending quest to improve quality.
Responsibilities:
Assistance and Teamwork – 30%
1. Assist the Branch team in processing and resolving customer concerns, as required.
2. Provide the organization with technical support.
3. Understand and apply appropriate quality assurance and improvement processes.
4. Continuously upgrade skills and knowledge to improve personal effectiveness and provide training and guidance to less experienced/skilled personnel.
5. Recognize and evaluate the impact on others when making any decision.
Customer and Company Support – 40%
1. Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities which includes creating customer sample submissions, i.e., PPAP, FAI, ISIR, etc.
2. Provide testing and inspection support to Ireland branches.
3. Record technical information, dimensional, mechanicals and performance testing.
4. Effectively communicate with customers, suppliers, and employees of Supply Technologies, as required.
5. Provide customer concern technical support for key accounts.
6. Issue Corrective Action requests and 8D documents to vendors. Review and close out, as required.
7. Provide visible, active support for the ISO9001 and ISO 14001 management systems, and carry out internal audits.
8. Maintain a safe and unobstructed work area, follow all safety guidelines, and utilize appropriate safety equipment and practices.
9. Practice positive customer relations and constructive problem-solving.
Maintaining and Creating Documentation – 30%
1. Construct complete and accurate Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) packages ready for presentation to the customer.
2. Utilize the Inventory Management System to perform required transactions and to generate reports and metrics, as requested.
3. Responsible for inspection and testing equipment maintenance and calibration.
4. Perform Gauge R&R studies, as required.

Qualifications
Experience
Preferred
1. 3 years of Gauge Calibration and Gauge R&R software experience.
2. 3 years of experience with Profile projector, Sample preparation, and Hardness Testing.
3. 3 years of exposure to Six Sigma.
4. 3 years of experience in the use of basic inspection equipment (calipers, micrometers, etc.).
5. 3 years of PPAP experience.
6. 3 years of ISO 9001 experience.
7. 3 years of understanding mechanical drawings and GD&T.
8. 3 years of Statistical Process Control (SPC) software experience.
