We are looking for an approachable, motivated and enthusiastic pension specialist who understands the importance of providing a consistent, precise and dependable service in a fast-paced environment to join our internal payroll team as Pension Team Leader.
Spanning ESNEFTs two acute sites, community sites and community services, you will play a crucial role in leading our pensions team ensuring our two employer pension schemes, NHS and NEST are administered in a smooth and efficient manner. As the pension lead you will ensure compliance with the pension regulations and be a source of expertise for the team.

Main duties of the job
o Manage the Trusts Pension Team undertaking appraisals and absence management, as well as providing specialist Pension support to Ensure the Trust are compliant with pension regulations at all timeso Implement new ways of working and ensure existing processes are fit for purposeo Work with a number of internal and external stakeholders to resolve complex queries, establish best practice and provide advice. o Make daily adjustments to plans and schedule in order to deal with unexpected organisation requirements whilst ensuring targets are met. This may include re-allocating work to the team to meet organisational and national Forward plan the workload in order to meet the department's objectives and deadlines, considering a longer-term view for future changes in the Trust or department that could have an impact on the Be an active participant in the departments bitesize training sessions provided to managers across the Trust.
We welcome applications wanting flexible or hybrid working. Whilst working knowledge of NHS Pensions would be an advantage, we welcome applications with previous experience of working within a pensions or payroll environment who may not have previous leadership experience. There is the opportunity for this post to be offered as a developmental role with support to undertake a Level 3 Apprenticeship in Pension Administration and/or Leadership courses and qualifications.
