Post Title: Trainee Accountant 1
Location : * Highland / Hybrid
Hours : 35
Duration : Permanent
Salary : HC4 £24,806 - £27,172 p.a. / HC5 £27,554 - £30,175 p.a. (Depending on qualifications)
up to HC8 (upon completion)
* This post may be worked in a hybrid pattern between home and any Highland Council office. We will take into account staff preferences and service needs.
Salary placing will normally be at the first point of the scale.

Job Purpose: Assisting with accounting, financial and auditing processes with a view to gaining sufficient knowledge and experience to complete exams and Practical Experience Portfolio as required by CIPFA’s Professional Qualification. The Trainee will be provided with mentoring support, study and examination time. The Council will meet the financial costs associated with learning resources, examination and related membership fees during the period of traineeship.

Requirements
Relevant Degree or Qualification to gain exemption from the Financial and Management Accounting modules at the Certificate level of CIPFA’s Professional Accountancy Qualification
OR
Sufficient relevant experience to gain exemption from the Financial and Management Accounting modules of the Certificate stage of CIPFA’s Professional Accountancy Qualification. cp-props="{">
