Circular Economy Toolkit Development Intern
The Cairngorm Business Partnership (CBP) is the primary representative organisation and voice for the business community in the Cairngorms National Park. As part of our commitment to helping businesses become more circular, we are developing an online Circular Economy Toolkit, designed to support small rural businesses on their journey toward sustainable, waste-reducing business practices. We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated intern to support the development of our Circular Economy Toolkit. This toolkit will provide resources, case studies, and tools to help local businesses integrate circular economy practices into their business models. The intern will play a key role in researching, collating resources, and developing content tailored to the needs of businesses in the Cairngorms area.

The Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated intern to support the development of our Circular Economy Toolkit. This toolkit will provide resources, case studies, and tools to help local businesses integrate circular economy practices into their business models. The intern will be responsible for researching, collating resources, and developing content tailored to the needs of businesses in the Cairngorms area. Additionally, they will gather case studies, attend sector meetings, and help plan the toolkit launch event.
Key Responsibilities:
Research & Content Development:
* Research and gather existing circular economy resources that are relevant to rural businesses.
* Develop easy-to-navigate content for the toolkit, ensuring it is accessible, relevant, and practical for local businesses.
* Tailor the toolkit to the local economy by ensuring all resources and advice are applicable to businesses operating within the Cairngorms.
Local Case Studies:
* Identify local businesses successfully implementing circular economy practices.
* Develop and write case studies to be featured in the toolkit, showcasing best practices and tangible results.
* Interview business owners and key stakeholders to capture their journey towards circularity.
Toolkit Development:
* Work with the CBP team to create a user-friendly layout for the toolkit on the CBP website.
* Collaborate with the web team to ensure the toolkit is easy to navigate and promotes engagement.
Sector Group Engagement:
* Attend CBP sector group meetings to understand the challenges and opportunities faced by rural businesses.
* Use insights from these meetings to shape the toolkit content and ensure it addresses the needs of the community.
Toolkit Promotion & Launch:
* Assist in planning and executing the toolkit launch event, aimed at showcasing the resource to CBP members.
* Collaborate with the CBP marketing team to promote the toolkit through newsletters, social media, and B2B events.
* Monitor feedback and usage to suggest improvements to the toolkit post-launch.
The Candidate
Skills & Qualifications
* Passion for Sustainability and the Circular Economy: A demonstrated interest in sustainability, with a sound understanding of circular economy principles, waste reduction, and resource efficiency.
* Research and Writing Skills: Ability to conduct thorough research, synthesise information, and develop engaging, practical content for a business audience.
* Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills for conducting interviews, writing case studies, and collaborating with local businesses and stakeholders.
* Self-Motivation and Proactivity: A proactive, self-motivated approach, with the capacity to work independently and as part of a small, dynamic team.
* Experience with Digital Tools and Content Management: Familiarity with website content management and digital tools for project organisation and content development.
* Knowledge of the Cairngorms Area and Local Business Challenges: Understanding of the specific challenges faced by rural businesses, particularly within the Cairngorms region.
Additional Requirements
* Availability for Meetings and Events: Ability to attend CBP sector group meetings and toolkit-related events, either in person within the Cairngorms area or virtually, depending on the candidate’s location.
