Job Description:
As Civil Project Engineer, you will join a world-leading engineering and project management consultancy. The Belfast office has been appointed to assist in delivering civil construction projects in Northern Ireland for a major client.
Your responsibilities include planning, technical, and quality support during the on-site phase of major civil engineering projects. Typical duties include:
1. Planning and coordinating project construction interfaces, including weekly railway works notices.
2. Representing the company at planning and stakeholder meetings.
3. Reviewing construction methods, methodologies, and risk assessments.
4. Conducting site visits to ensure compliance with quality, safety, and environmental standards.
5. Acting as NEC4 Contract Site Supervisor during major works and planned blockades.
6. Preparing weekly reports on project progress, risks, and issues.
7. Escalating issues impacting schedule, quality, cost, safety, or environment to management.
8. Advising on costs, technical matters, and project schedules.
9. Ensuring adherence to organizational equality duties and specific job role commitments.
Candidate Requirements:
* A construction-related degree with at least 2 years' civil engineering construction experience.
* Or a minimum of HNC/HND in construction with at least 5 years' civil engineering experience.
* Proven on-site civil engineering/construction experience.
* Knowledge of construction safety management.
* Experience in planning and managing construction contracts.
* Strong organizational and planning skills for complex activities.
* Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook for reporting.
* Experience with NEC3/NEC4 contracts is highly desirable.
* Experience in railway infrastructure is highly desirable.
* Experience working in safety-critical environments is highly desirable.
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to work effectively within a team.
