Overview PepsiCo is looking for Global Process Centre Control System Engineer to be based in Leicester. Main purpose of the role is to lead for Control Systems and Electrical or Machinery Safety Compliance; designated Electrical Duty Holder or MESS Duty Holder; be a SME for Control Systems – PLC, SCADA applications, Server and Networking maintenance and coaching and SME support for GPC maintenance technicians and project team associates. Responsibilities Accountable for area compliance to PepsiCo Electrical Policy within the GPC R&D Pilot Plant, lead the improvement of standards and ensure that all works are completed as per policy Designated Electrical Duty Holder or Machinery Safety Duty Holder Hazardous Energies Duty Holder if required Ownership of the control systems maintenance and reliability agenda Responsible for availability and reliability of pilot plant process equipment Provide skilled diagnostic test & repair for pilot plant facilities; modifications, minor installation works and replacements Provide in depth technical (primarily electrical) support to R&D process development engineers to promote electrical safety compliance for all new and trial equipment brought onto site via experience and influencing skills Accountable for Contractor Management & Permit To Work for the R&D Pilot Plant (all trades) Support the onsite H&S programs by actively being involved in site programs Owns the planning, organising and upkeep of preventative maintenance schedule (via SAP) to maximise performance of all plant and ensure a safe working environment for all tasks carried out Qualifications Time served Electrical Engineer, with minimum of HNC in a relevant discipline, HND preferred Significant experience of PLC, SCADA applications and networking maintenance and development MESS Level 4 and relevant machinery and process safety experience Level 3 Electrician with sufficient / suitable experience Qualified in electrical test and inspection (City & Guilds 18th edition and City & Guilds 2391 or equivalent) In addition to electrical skills, good mechanical, instrumentation, pneumatics and hydraulic skills are required The following are essential to ensure that equipment is available as required for site operations: Fault finding on Rockwell PLC’s and PC based SCADA applications Competent to carry out diagnostic testing and repair Modifications, tests and minor installation work Minor replacements and repair Proven computer literacy essential (MS Office Suite)
