Look no further, Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council has the perfect opportunity for you to join us as a Team Manager for either one of the Children & Families Social Care teams or in one of the Assessment teams!
Our Children’s Services is focused on achieving the best possible outcomes for our children and young people. We are dedicated to creating an environment where social work practice can thrive, where Social Work teams are encouraged to be innovative and creative to ensure the services we offer to children and families help improve their lives.
In the Children & Families Social Care Teams, you will be leading a small team of social workers who are responding to, co-ordinating and delivering social care services to children, young people and their families for children who have a child in need plan or child protection plan, including those who may be involved in PLO and court proceedings.
In the Assessment team, you will be leading a small team of social workers who are working in a fast-paced environment, providing short term help and support to families. The focus will be to work with families to understand concerns regarding a child or young person’s safety or wellbeing, make an assessment of the risk and protective factors in the family, and decide on the most appropriate support.
As Team Manager you will play a key role in ensuring that our social workers feel supported and that high quality practice is delivered to children and families. You will demonstrate strong but compassionate leadership and provide a nurturing environment where practice will flourish to contribute to positive outcomes for our children, young people and their families.
You will receive excellent support and join a welcoming, supportive senior management team.
To be considered for interview, you will:
4. Have a relevant social work qualification
5. Be registered with Social Work England
6. Have substantial experience as a senior social worker or in a management level social work role
7. Have a strong track record of overseeing staff and performance
8. Have compassion and an understanding of the needs of children and families
9. Have extensive knowledge of relevant legislation, guidance and practices
10. Be an excellent communicator

11. A salary from £48,474 - £50,512
12. £3,000 annual retention payment (paid monthly)

The Council has a visa sponsorship license and is therefore able to offer certificates of sponsorship to non-UK residents through the skilled-worker route for this role. In order to qualify for this, applicants must be undertaking their qualification in the UK or have completed it in the UK, and require sponsorship.
