ECommerce Trading Manager Job Description The eCommerce team is recruiting an eCommerce Trading Manager - Product Purchase, to be at the forefront of our UK growth! The UK Trading team fuels UK growth by optimising online product sales on Next.co.uk across Womenswear, Menswear, Childrenswear and Home. They drive exciting product launches and strategic promotions to maximise sales and brand visibility. The role As the eCommerce Trading Manager for Product Purchase, you will be responsible for optimising the end-to-end purchase journey, from product selection and shopping bag management to registration, and checkout. You will oversee the product page optimisation process for branded products onsite. You’ll also work with various teams in ecommerce to support you in your role - data, development teams etc. and prioritise workload where necessary to ensure we deliver the most value. What else is involved?
* Manage your team, setting objectives, priorities and developing their skill set. Deputise for manager(s) where required.
* Regularly monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as conversion, funnel drop offs, traffic & sales. Spotting in-week opportunities to maximise potential.
* Provide a weekly trading update to key stakeholders covering key issues / sales and other KPIs.
* Work with the business owner to set the direction for growing conversion across PDP, Shopping Bag, Registration & Checkout - ensure all stakeholders are on the same journey.
* Analyse the product purchase journey through the reporting available - identify trends, user behaviours, and potential areas for improvement. Use insights to inform decision-making and optimise conversion.
* Set the example in doing this, sharing best practice and learnings with other team members.
* Be the go-to person for product team queries relating to Brands PDP. You should be an expert in the product area you represent, understanding key trends and how this should be translated online. Presenting to senior management teams, organising and running key meetings including regular ecommerce updates.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams across ecommerce and the wider next business to achieve business goals and improve the user experience.
* Bring together your team as a unit, encouraging new ideas and ways of working. Report back on any successes and share key learnings with the wider team.
* Lead on new ideas & tests that could improve the customer experience, with the ultimate aim to drive higher conversion rates.
* Provide recommendations based on market research to ensure the site remains competitive. Make recommendations based on brand activity on other sites.
* Work closely with support teams to address any site issues promptly, ensuring a positive customer experience and resolving any obstacles to conversion.
* Keep up to date with new developments, continuously challenge what we do to move forward. Look for ways to improve how we work and drive efficiency.
* Respond to changes in the e-commerce landscape, trading priorities, and user behaviour. Has a helpful attitude and supports changes in the team.
