We are seeking a skilled and experienced Transport & Logistics Manager to oversee and manage all aspects of transportation multiple sites. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics management, exceptional organizational skills, and a proven ability to lead and develop teams.
1. Transport Operations Control:
- Oversee all transport operations for 5 sites, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of goods.
- Manage relationships with 3rd party couriers and 3PL partners.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize transportation processes and reduce costs.
- Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and safety standards.
2. Planning and Coordination:
- Plan and schedule transport routes to maximize efficiency and minimize delays.
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure seamless logistics operations.
- Anticipate and address any logistical challenges or issues proactively.
3. Maintenance and Oversight:
- Oversee maintenance schedules for all vehicles, ensuring they are in optimal condition.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with maintenance standards.
- Manage relationships with 3PL vehicle providers to ensure service quality and reliability.
4. Warehouse and Yard Operations: *
- Supervise warehouse and yard operations at the Head Office in Woolpit.
- Implement best practices for warehouse organization and efficiency.
5. Staff Management and Training:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of logistics personnel.
- Provide training and guidance to staff to enhance their skills and performance.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback for improvement.
6. Performance Management and Improvements:
- Analyse logistics performance metrics and identify areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance overall logistics efficiency and effectiveness.
- Continuously seek opportunities to streamline processes and reduce costs.
Qualifications:
- Transport Management CPC preferred but not essential
- Proven experience in logistics management, with a minimum of 2 years in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of transportation regulations and compliance requirements.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Proficiency in logistics software and systems.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Working hours:
8am-5:30pm Monday to Friday
Salary
Guild for this role is £40-45k pa plus bonus, bonus is based on hitting a set annual KPI and varies between £8000-£10000
