Higher Level Teaching Assistant – Secondary School (Runcorn)

An inclusive and forward-thinking secondary school based in Runcorn is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their committed team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting student learning and contributing to the positive, nurturing environment the school is known for.
Key Responsibilities:
Support students across a range of subjects and key stages, ensuring all learners have the opportunity to reach their full potential.
Work collaboratively with teaching staff to plan, prepare, and deliver targeted interventions.
Lead small group sessions and, where appropriate, cover lessons in the absence of a teacher.
Assist in the monitoring and assessment of pupils' progress, feeding back to teachers and pastoral teams.
Contribute to the overall ethos of the school, promoting high standards of behaviour and achievement.
Essential Qualities and Experience:
Previous experience working in a school setting, ideally within a secondary environment.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
A calm, patient, and adaptable approach to supporting young people, including those with additional needs.
Good organisational skills and the ability to use initiative.
A genuine passion for education and a commitment to supporting student development.
Qualifications:
HLTA status preferred, but applicants with a minimum Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification and relevant experience are encouraged to apply.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
