Job summary We are seeking to recruit an organised and flexible individual to join our team as a Newborn Hearing Screener. Primarily based in Maternity at the Leicester Royal Infirmary you will be required to work at Leicester General Hospital and outpatients clinics/ home visits in the community You will be required to perform the screen, record and collect data and liaise with professionals and parents. The post holder will be expected to successfully complete the Level 3 Diploma for Health Screeners to assure competence to undertake screening safely, independently and in line with programme standards. It is part of a national programme aimed at screening all newborn babies for normal hearing. Although primarily based at one of the hospital sites, the post holder may also work at outreach clinics in the community and attend home visits. The post holder is expected to work as a member of a team, which screens the hearing of newborn babies, under the supervision of the NHSP Local Manager. The role includes gathering and accurately recording test data relevant to the screening process. There will be direct contact with newborn babies, their parents and with doctors and nursing staff.
