Job Purpose
The R&D Operations Supervisor coordinates all operational activities in the R&D Center. They are responsible for scheduling and execution of all areas of production. They are also responsible for maintaining the proper paperwork to support our USDA grant of inspection.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Schedule weekly production to support new recipes
2. Oversee and report on product testing and shelf life
3. Support lab operations and be a resource as necessary
4. Maintain a clean and organized test kitchen
5. Facilitate weekly review meetings for products and projects
6. Maintain the necessary inventory to support production
7. Perform quarterly inventories
8. Order proteins and supplies to support operations
9. Maintain the necessary paperwork and QA functions to support our USDA grant of inspection
10. Work cross-functionally with plant managers and schedulers to accomplish trials and tests
11. Support the sales team with products and recipes for our customers
12. Lead the R&D team members
13. Continue to grow in meat technology
14. Manage projects to completion and keep impacted parties informed
15. Maintain proper sanitation of equipment and facilities

Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s degree in food science or relevant experience
2. Must be detail-oriented and have basic mathematics skills
3. Strong written and oral communication skills
4. Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office programs
5. Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
6. Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
7. Focus on long-term success / forward-thinking strategist
8. Ability to speak effectively to customers or employees in the organization
Working Conditions
Various conditions including office, warehouse, lab and production facilities. Working conditions will include extended periods in cold and wet meat processing environments requiring protective clothing. The position includes occasional travel to both the Telford and Lebanon plants.
Physical Requirements
1. Must be able to perform extensive walking and standing throughout the shift and on a daily basis.
2. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
3. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
