Tk Transport and Forwarding Company, established in 2019, is looking for an experienced Business Development Manager who will help us grow our business in the Freight Forwarding sector.
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Business Development Manager to join our small team. This role involves a combination of sales and operational responsibilities, where you will be responsible for driving business growth through sales efforts and ensuring seamless operational execution of freight forwarding services. As a Business Development Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing clients, coordinating shipments, and providing exceptional customer service to maintain and grow our client base.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales and Business Development:
* Identify potential clients and establish strong business relationships to expand the customer base.
* Proactively seek out new business opportunities and leads within the freight forwarding industry.
* Prepare and present compelling sales proposals and quotes to prospective clients.
* Stay up-to-date with industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to identify opportunities for business growth.
Operational Excellence:
* Coordinate all aspects of freight forwarding operations, including air, sea, road, and rail transportation.
* Process shipping documents, customs clearance, and other necessary paperwork to ensure efficient cargo movement and pickups.
* Track shipments and communicate proactively with clients on the status of their shipments.
* Resolve any operational issues or delays that may arise during transportation, ensuring timely delivery and customer satisfaction.
* Work closely with carriers, customs brokers, and other stakeholders to optimize the shipping process and resolve any logistical challenges.
* Arrange necessary subcontractors.
Customer Service:
* Provide outstanding customer service by promptly addressing inquiries, concerns, and requests from clients.
* Act as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring their ongoing satisfaction.
* Offer professional advice and guidance to clients on the most suitable freight forwarding solutions based on their specific needs.
Compliance and Regulations:
* Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, laws, and customs requirements for international shipments.
* Keep abreast of changes in import/export regulations and customs procedures to facilitate smooth operations and avoid penalties or delays.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Proven experience in freight forwarding sales and operations, with a track record of achieving sales targets.
* Strong understanding of international shipping procedures, customs regulations, and documentation requirements.
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills to build and maintain effective business relationships.
* Proficiency in using freight forwarding software and other relevant tools to manage shipments effectively.
* Problem-solving abilities with a focus on delivering innovative solutions to clients' logistics challenges.
* Detail-oriented and highly organized, capable of multitasking and prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced environment.
* Adaptability to handle changing market conditions and business demands.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £24,000.00 - £60,000.00 per year
