Overview
We are looking for an Associate Accountant to join our FRC Financial Reporting team on a full-time staff basis. The role will be based in our East Campus office in Westhill and report into the FRC Financial Reporting Team Senior Accountant, working closely with Accountants and Associates within a sub-team in Financial Reporting. This position is suitable for a graduate with placement experience or someone with relevant finance experience in preparing reconciliations and analytical analysis of financial information.
It will be exciting, busy, varied, and challenging, so a ‘hands-on, sleeves-up’ approach is essential. You will collaborate with the entire FRC team to deliver a trusted, reliable, and high-quality finance function.

What will you be doing?
The Financial Reporting team handles the financial accounting of legal entities within the Subsea 7 group. This involves working closely with regional finance teams to understand the entities, their operations, transactions, compliance reporting requirements, and completing financial reporting for these entities.
In this role, you will be responsible for financial reporting for a specific region, generating financial reports and statements for key stakeholders. There will be many opportunities to learn and develop with support from your team.
1. Preparation of statutory financial statements and quarterly management accounts for less complex entities, and assistance with larger entities.
2. Liaising with external auditors regarding year-end group accounts and statutory financial statements.
3. Applying and upholding group accounting policies. A basic understanding of International Accounting Standards, local standards, legislation, and reporting disclosures is advantageous.
4. Preparing reconciliations and analyses with appropriate backup and critical assessment of balances.
5. Ensuring compliance with monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements and meeting financial controls objectives within deadlines.
6. Performing entity-specific analysis and postings within SAP.
7. Developing relationships with regional Finance teams, including Finance Directors, to provide value-added service to regional reporting.
8. Identifying areas for process improvements.
9. Collaborating with relevant departments to resolve issues promptly.

* Finance or Accounting degree is required.
* Experience in a similar role or placement in a finance role is advantageous.
