The Role:
As the range of projects that we work on grow, so does our team! We are currently looking to hire a Supplier Quality Engineer for a 12 Month Maternity Cover in our SCM department at our coastal office in Weymouth. Do you love working in a fun, forward-thinking environment?

You will:
* Support the ASMPT Weymouth teams, production, source, logistics and supplier Quality in ensuring received material is fit for purpose.
* Manage non-conformances and deal with internal and external customers and suppliers to resolve issues, focusing on corrective and preventative actions.
* Manage data, reporting, communications & improvement initiatives associated with vendor performance
* Onboard new suppliers following a defined Advanced Product and Quality Planning process (APQP) & Supplier Part Qualification Process (based on PPAP)
* Manage review and approve first article inspection reports submitted by suppliers for new products and changing requirements on approved parts.
* Ensure top suppliers are regularly audited (Schedule) & most importantly, corrective actions are followed through/closed.
* Develop & implement quality prevention processes internally/externally (at suppliers).
* Maintain & analyse supplier service levels & performance data & communicate performance measures internally and to suppliers.
* Identify Global Suppliers to work with and drive the supplier development & performance processes and continuous improvement of any quality topics.
* Liaise closely with SCM team to ensure improvement priorities are managed accordingly.
* Create & maintain reporting of non-conformance/delivery (O.T.D) statistics, using company systems
* Manage non-conformance issues
About You:
We’re looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our team!
You Will Have:
* A background in quality assurance, supplier quality or worked in a capital equipment or manufacturing environment.
* A detailed understanding of an ERP system, ideally SAP.
* A good understanding of quality requirements corrective & preventative action.
* A clear idea of the cost of vendor non-conformance.
* Ability to successfully meet daily, weekly and monthly deadlines and display self-discipline needed to achieve these project schedules.
* A Good team player attitude and a communicator at all levels.
* An ability to demonstrate a working knowledge of Microsoft Office (excel key) together with experience of databases and use of data to define improvements based on Data.
* Excellent communication /interpersonal skills; able to communicate effectively face-to-face, by phone and e-mail with people at all levels within ASMPT and vendor companies.
* A Certified lean Six Sigma (green belt) with experience and knowledge on the implementation of the tools. (Desirable)
