An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join the NHS Borders Hospital at Home team. We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, motivated Advanced Nurse Practitioner with excellent communication and clinical practice skills to work within the community setting.
The H@H service provides secondary level care within the patient’s own home or care setting. The ANP within the H@H team plays a key role in the management of acute and complex patients, providing clinical care to patients who would otherwise be in a hospital setting.
This post will be part of the nursing team expecting the ANP to undertake staff development and supervision responsibilities. These responsibilities have been reflected in the key results and will apply as required. The post holder will have the support of a senior medical clinician to enhance the ongoing development of the team and staff members.
Currently, the service operates 7 days a week, 0800-1800. The post holder would work Monday-Friday with the possibility of occasional weekend working.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024, but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part-time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37-hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period, for which you would be paid, until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
