The Role
The role is a combination of FP&A and Commercial Finance. You will provide commercial analysis and insight to facilitate effective business decisions, building strong relationships across the wider business, acting as a key interface between finance and the commercial and operational teams, and developing the analytical processes within the business.
1. Business partner with the commercial & marketing teams to create insight on trading with the preparation of the weekly trading report and attendance at trading meetings, carrying out discounts/rebates review and driving understanding and control of one of the biggest areas of spend by tracking marketing activity/spend and return on investment;
2. Provision of analysis on cost base (Cost of Sales & Overheads) including variance analysis vs budget to aid cost control as well as further analysis in order to challenge margins and support supply chain strategic decisions through business partnering with the operational team;
3. Support the quarterly reforecast / 3-year plan / budget;
4. Finance support on NPI projects, including P&L analysis for gate meetings and post-launch review;
5. Continuous improvement of processes to drive efficient and effective financial analysis for commercial and finance teams;
6. Provide training and support to stakeholders to enhance their financial acumen and understanding;
7. Support the FD on scenario analysis for initiatives across the business as well as undertaking additional ad hoc duties / projects as and when required, to provide financial value-added insight.
What you’ll need to succeed
1. 5+ years experience working in a consumer-focused business;
2. Accountancy qualification, ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent - ideally 2 years PQE (part qualified will be considered on experience basis);
3. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to work with large amounts of data;
4. Strong ability to think strategically and creatively, providing pragmatic solutions;
5. Excellent Excel skills and experience using BI and other visualization tools;
6. Outstanding communication skills and ability to write and present clear and concise reports;
7. To have an agile, proactive and approachable working style.
