Aftermarket Development Manager
This is a role for a confidential Fleet and Service Development/Retention Manager who can build effective and profitable working relationships with new customers.
Your remit will be to build up the retail side of the aftermarket business through your established network of contacts in the commercial and municipal vehicle marketplace.
You will be tasked with growing the retail service network, dealing with truck sales customers and new businesses that could potentially use your established services.
Also in your remit will be managing a small team of Mobile Service Technicians in your designated geographical area.
You will ensure that their work has been carried out to the correct specifications and within the time frames.
Ensuring that safety and compliance are achieved on every single piece of work, be it repairs, maintenance, inspections, fabricating, and welding.
This role would suit someone who has experience working in a similar role within an HGV or Council Fleet workshop environment and has good commercial vehicle knowledge from a technical perspective.
What is critical is that you have very good people skills. You will be liaising with internal and external stakeholders, sometimes in a high-pressure environment, so a cool head is required at all times.
The type of vehicles worked on range from heavy goods vehicles (HGVs), road tankers, MOD, GSE, gritters, RCVs, refuge vehicles, and road sweepers.
The fitters under your guidance are highly skilled. They will be looking after a mix of diesel, hybrid, and fully electric vehicles, so it is important that you are up to date with modern vehicle technologies.
