CMA is delighted to be partnering with a distribution business in Andover, Hampshire who are looking to appoint an Assistant Accountant. Reporting to the Financial Controller, this is an exceptional opportunity for a candidate who possesses a strong technical understanding of accounting and financial reporting and now looking for a hands-on opportunity to take that next step into an Assistant Accountant role. What will the Assistant Accountant role involve?
Lead the on-going development of the Purchase Order system to evolve it in line with business needs.
Take ownership and responsibility for the Purchase Order system to ensure completeness and accuracy of the data within it, with full support of the Sales and Commercial teams.
Using the PO system, undertake a monthly audit exercise, ensure all recoveries have been captured.
Assist the Commercial team in reconciling their month end accounts and review any discrepancies.
Take responsibility for the timely sign off, of brand and customer specific invoices with full support of the Sales and Commercial teams ensuring that any cash flow impact is kept at a minimum.
Ensure that brand and customer specific invoices are fully supported, agreed and correctly reported on the Purchase Order system, following through to settlement, with full support of the Sales and Commercial teams.
Assist the Commercial Managers with supporting documentation for agreed monthly rebates due from the brands.
Ensure all customer specific invoices are fully accrued for with the support of the Sales and Commercial teams.
Support the Sales and Commercial teams with any disputed invoices to ensure a timely resolution.
Support the Sales and Commercial teams in the development of improved commercial analysis processes.
Lead the development of Channel Profitability understanding across the business.
