2 Shift Pattern:
Days: Monday to Thursday, 06:00 – 13:40 & Friday 06:00 – 13:00
Afters: Monday to Thursday, 13:35 – 21:15 & Friday 12:55 – 19:55
Nights: May introduce a night shift in the future depending on business needs
Progress Rail are looking to recruit a Production Supervisor to manage the operational effectiveness of all factory processes, including the allocation of workload to ensure achievement of production schedules, whilst meeting HSE requirements.
THE ROLE:
As a Production Supervisor you will be required to:
1. Maintain and promote a safe and tidy working environment in accordance with company and legislative requirements
2. Operate in accordance with the Company Quality Assurance System and help to improve/develop processes
3. Solve production problems and continuously improve in all areas of operation
4. Structure and prioritise work in a logical and orderly manner to achieve business & personal objectives
5. Plan the allocation and delegation of work
6. Develop an ongoing forward plan (with a minimum 4 week look-ahead window) to confirm how the production schedule will be met
7. Report on status of current production plan to production manager and update relevant databases
8. Be results focused - accountable for achieving business and team targets
9. Assist in the planning & training of a multi-skilled workforce
10. Ensure that employees work within Health, Safety & Environmental procedures
11. Lead regular performance meetings
12. Ensure that inductions, risk assessments and method statements are taken where necessary
13. Assume responsibility for writing relevant risk assessments and ensure that team members are assessed and meet the standard for the tasks delegated
14. Respond professionally and innovatively to satisfy the needs of internal and external customers, ensuring that quality standards are never conceded
15. Be aware and actively reduce the incident rate of Non Conforming errors within the team
16. Create a “Clean-as-you-go” policy and maintain W.I.P. and stock areas in accordance with a prescribed site layout plan
17. Conduct briefings, toolbox talks, minor accident investigations and inspections
18. Ensure plant and equipment is maintained safely and fit for purpose, reporting and resolving defects
THE CANDIDATE:
The ideal Production Supervisor:
1. Has worked in a machining environment for at least 5 years
2. Proven track record in supervisory management
3. Understands BS EN ISO 9001/9002 and its implications
4. A confident personality with excellent written and verbal communication skills
5. Basic IT skills with a good standard of Excel and Word required
6. Demonstrates an ability to persuade and influence people
