The apetito Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) business unit is changing rapidly and requires a pro-active, dynamic and value adding Commercial Business Partner to support the management team. The Commercial Business Partner will manage a team of three regional accountants (based in Trowbridge), managing the finance business partnering for a portfolio of 42 in-house Wiltshire Farm Foods depots. Working with the General Manager and Regional Managers to support the delivery of key financial targets, you will help define strategy and tactical direction, taking real ownership of the P&L, from a sales, margin and cost perspective of what is a significant part of the apetito business. This is not a typical commercial finance role - we are seeking a credible DTC professional who is a resilient self-starter determined to drive their own and the teams success. You will lead the budgeting and forecasting for the relevant business unit, helping to identify and shape new opportunities for growth. You will foster an environment of continuous improvement by identifying and delivering efficiencies ensuring that teams work in as lean and an effective manner as possible. Reporting to the Senior Commercial Finance Manager, you will be trusted to work autonomously and manage your own workload but will be fully supported by a talented team of apetito colleagues. This role is based in our Trowbridge offices to support the team you will manage. Flexibility to work from home up to 2 days per week. This role is fixed term, for 15 months, to cover maternity leave. Develop strong bonds with key business stakeholders to collectively identify and deliver value adding initiatives Co-ordinate, complete and drive actions from commercial reviews Continuous development of key business intelligence focusing on areas which provide a deeper understanding of the financial dynamics of activities Presentation of key financial performance to teams, Senior Managers and the Exec. Support and enhance the routine financial reporting of apetito’s commercial businesses and operational activities – incorporating period-end, budgets and forecasts Automate, streamline and improve the efficiencies and effectiveness of Commercial Finance processes. Routine support and involvement in various areas of the Commercial Finance and wider Finance team to ensure all departmental objectives are met within the required timescales Be an effective team member and contributor to other ad-hoc support / project work Essential: A Levels or equivalent qualification Newly qualified, passed finalist, or studying toward finals for professional accounting qualification A minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience (qualified or unqualified) clearly demonstrating the commercial impact you have made Excellent Microsoft Office skills – particularly, Excel and PowerPoint Confident communicator Compelling influencing skills Diligence and attention to detail Excellent analytical and numerical skills Desirable: Previous experience of SAP Experience of working with business partners providing more than just MI Evidence of adding value Ability to critically review existing business processes/systems The Commercial Business Partner will have a proven track record of delivering to exceptionally high standards, often within tight timescales.
