Respiratory Nurse Specialist - Asthma and COPD
Fixed Term contract until 31 March 2026
Seeking a dynamic, highly motivated and pro-active nurse to join our enthusiastic and high performing team of Specialist Respiratory Nurses.
This fixed term 12 month contract provides a valuable opportunity for an ambitious nurse to gain experience of practicing in a specialist nurse role. In this role you will be supported to develop your knowledge & skills, enabling you to practice at an autonomous and highly specialist level. You will rapidly improve your respiratory expertise but will also gain new skills which would transfer to other specialist roles. You will be supported to work as an independent practitioner, whilst at the same time working closely with the multi-disciplinary team in both secondary and primary care.
You will ideally have prior experience of working within a respiratory setting and be able to demonstrate a high level of knowledge and expertise of respiratory patient care, this is not essential as full training will be given to the right candidate. You will have a flexible approach to work, participating in service development and evaluation as we move forward, with a solution focussed can do attitude.
Our team have responsibility for reviewing patients admitted with an exacerbation of COPD or Asthma, providing education and support for the patient, giving management recommendations to the ward based MDT, and ensuring referral to community services/ GP practice on discharge.
