Role Overview Due to the expansion of Touchlight’s business and the Analytical Development department, we are recruiting a new Analytical Development Scientist (12m). They will play a pivotal role in testing the performance on analytical assays. Their primary responsibilities will include supporting the hands-on performance of both routine testing and characterisation testing of Touchlight products. Key responsibilities include: We are seeking a detail-oriented professional who excels at performing accurate analyses on multiple samples, ensuring precision from the first attempt. The AD Scientist will be part of a small, dedicated team responsible for testing company and client samples with quick turnaround times. A comprehensive understanding of the analytics performed is essential, as you will engage with clients to discuss their results and support the head of the department. Main responsibilities include: Testing the performance of analytical assays (QPCR, UPLC, HPLC, NGS, Enzyme activity) Report writing Reagent stock management Skills and Experience Required A bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant life science field, demonstrating a solid foundation in scientific principles. Proven ability to conduct precise and accurate analytical testing Familiarity with Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) techniques and data analysis is preferred Knowledge of QPCR, UPLC and HPLC is preferred Understanding and application of enzyme assay techniques a strong plus Strong understanding of Good Documentation Practice (GDP) Strong communication skills to effectively document findings and engage with team members and clients. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Experience working within life- science manufacturing sector is desirable but not essential.
