The postholder will supervise the provision of an efficient Urology admissions and secretarial team. The postholder is expected to manage a team of staff including secretaries, admission coordinators and administrative assistants. The role will ensure appropriate support to the department ensuring the right task is undertaken by the right resource along with appropriate training.
The postholder supports the Lead Coordinator and the general management team in the delivery of two week wait targets, 18 week waiting times and diagnostic targets for Urology. This will include administration support to enable provision of patient care. Good communication with patients, relatives, general practitioners and other hospital staff is essential to ensure a proficient, high-quality service for patients and clinicians.
The postholder may be expected to cross-cover when required the Band 4 for Vascular and Breast., The post reports to the Lead Coordinator
- The post holder will line manage/supervise the secretarial, admission and administrative staff and take the lead role in their training, education and development and for quality checking work outputs.
- Manage sickness absence to ensure effective staff utilisation, application of HR policies and procedures, taking first line disciplinary action, participating in the recruitment process and conducting annual staff appraisals.
- Provide first line management pursuit of harassment and/or bullying complaints on behalf of team members in relation to aggressive or abusive patients or colleagues.
-Take responsibility for maintaining data quality provided by the reception team and understand these revenue implications for the Trust.
