An exciting job opportunity has arisen to recruit an 8b Principal Practitioner Psychologist to join our innovative psychology team at Ardenleigh.
The Women’s Secure Blended Service (WSBS) at Ardenleigh has an incredible national reputation, having been a successful pilot site for the blended security model and a key influence in the National Women’s Secure Pathway Transformation (WSPT) programme. The service is particularly proud of its gender sensitive, trauma informed model of care and commitment to co-production and improvement.
You will be joining a large and diverse psychological therapies team, consisting of clinical and forensic psychologists, arts therapists, specialist psychological practitioners and assistant psychologists. The WSBS has a strong multidisciplinary team ethos, in which the psychology team is well established and respected. We work alongside a number of professionals, providing safe, containing environments and interventions to help people understand themselves, their mental health and offending behaviour. This exciting role offers the suitable candidate opportunities for leadership, service development and complex clinical work, with a rewarding client group.
You will work within the WSBS at Ardenleigh Hospital, providing leadership and specialist clinical input across pathway.Whilst secure experience will be highly desirable, we encourage a breadth of experience to help bring new thinking to our services as the culture evolves.
The successful candidate will have extensive experience of working with adults with mental health presentation, psychological difficulties, neurodiversity and complex needs and risks. The post also offers a substantial leadership role, working alongside the consultant psychologist lead and principal practitioner psychologist to provide leadership to the psychology team, contributing to a culture which is psychologically safe and promotes staff wellbeing.
An interest and experience of developing services will be an advantage. You will have relevant knowledge and experience of working with women and high-risk behaviours. Leadership and service development experience is desirable, as well as managing and supervising a range of psychological professionals. You will require good organisational, interpersonal and communication skills in addition to therapeutic expertise.
