Job Title: Health & Wellbeing Lead
Hours: 37 hours per week
Contract: Fixed term maternity cover up to December 2025
Salary: Grade 9 £37,035 per annum

The role will provide operational management of Brio’s Wellbeing programmes, which focus on improving people’s health, contributing to reducing health inequality, and supporting people to change their health behaviours across Cheshire West & Chester.
You will be responsible for managing a number of Wellbeing staff, the operational mobilisation and delivery of programmes, performance management linked to contract specifications, and monitoring the effectiveness and impact we are having on the lives of the residents and communities we support.
You will work closely with the Smoking Cessation Lead to ensure service user and key partner needs are met.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Operational
1. Lead on the design, mobilisation, and delivery of Health & Wellbeing programmes including falls prevention, adult weight management, exercise on referral, long Covid recovery, and pulmonary rehabilitation.
2. Work in partnership with Brio Leisure teams, our shareholder (Cheshire West & Chester Council), and with various agencies across health, physical activity, and primary/secondary/social care organisations.
3. Lead on Wellbeing marketing and communication via our e-newsletter, website, social media, etc.
4. Lead our community engagement and events outreach programme. Work in partnership with Cheshire West & Chester Council and other agencies to identify, facilitate, and coordinate attendance, support the promotion of health and wellbeing events, activities, projects, and monitoring their outcomes.
Staff
1. Lead and manage members of the Wellbeing team which includes specialist instructors who deliver health and wellbeing programmes to people with long-term health conditions.
2. Lead on improving the skills, qualifications, and competencies of our Wellbeing staff identifying training and development needs/opportunities to enable them to confidently and competently achieve their objectives and personal targets.
3. Coordinate staff rotas/timesheets to ensure programmes are delivered within budget.
Finance & Administration
1. Operationally lead the financial management of the wellbeing programmes, tracking and monitoring expenditure and budget performance.
2. Responsible for ongoing and quarterly performance reporting including progress against key performance measures, identifying lessons learnt, service impact, areas for improvement, and risks.
3. Ensure that the impact our Wellbeing programmes have on the lives of residents is captured and communicated.
Other
1. Act as the Wellbeing department's designated Safeguarding Officer, attend and maintain relevant training, and ensure safeguarding processes are upheld by the team.
2. Grow our relationships and reputation with key partners and stakeholders including Cheshire West & Chester Council, Cheshire West ICP, Central Cheshire ICP, NHS Cheshire & Merseyside, Community Partnerships, etc.
3. Represent Brio Wellbeing at health and wellbeing meetings, conferences, workshops, and events as required.
