About the team and the role
This Insight Manager role supports the Operations and Transformation teams. The candidate will work closely with these teams and the Customer and Commercial teams to deliver insights that drive operational excellence and strategic initiatives.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Leading and developing a team of 2-5 Analysts.
2. Building strong partnerships with senior stakeholders such as the Head of Operations, Chief Customer Officer, and Forecasting Lead.
3. Developing expertise in customer demand factors and operational performance to inform long-term network and operations strategy.
4. Creating tools to automate decision-making processes and facilitate self-service analytics.
5. Leading projects aimed at business improvement.
6. Sharing best practices within the Insight team.
7. Handling ad-hoc analytical requests from various functions.
Example projects include:
1. Optimizing slot availability considering costs and customer satisfaction.
2. Assessing the feasibility of same-day delivery and advising on strategic implementation.
3. Analyzing customer refunds and recommending improvements.
4. Identifying capacity constraints and proposing solutions.
5. Automating substitute product selection with Data Science and Commercial teams.
Who you are
Essential:
* Strong analytical experience and ability to present insights to diverse audiences.
* Proficiency in SQL for data mining.
* Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, anticipating needs and managing risks.
* Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
* Advanced Excel skills.
* Degree in a numerate or technical field (2:1 or above).
* Mathematics A Level (or equivalent) Grade A or above.
* Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau.
Preferred:
* Experience in retail, e-commerce, or FMCG sectors.
* Familiarity with Google’s data ecosystem (e.g., Google Cloud, AutoML).
* Knowledge of VBA, R, or Python.
