About the role The Management Accountant will be responsible for all areas of finance for the business, reporting directly to the Chairman. Daily tasks: Bank reconciliations Raising Purchase Orders Processing Purchase invoices & ensuring payments are made in a timely manner Dealing with any supplier queries relating to payments Processing expenses Raising Sales invoices and issuing to customers Following up on outstanding receivables Reporting & Analysis: Monitoring progress against agreed KPIs Preparation of management accounts Month-End & Other Responsibilities: Ensuring all the banks are reconciled and up to date Ensuring Purchase Ledgers and Sales Ledgers are up-to-date Raising intercompany recharge invoices and processing end of month payments Processing Monthly and quarterly VAT returns Processing two small Monthly Payrolls Stakeholder Management: Providing qualitative commentary to management accounts Assisting in the budgetary and cashflow management of the business Process Improvement & Recommendations: Reviewing the current reporting and processing and recommending upon any possible enhancements Location and working hours: Part-time opportunity working 30 hours per week OR Full-time position (37.5 hours per week). Flexible hybrid working – office location: Bristol Science Park Required skills and attributes: Experience: Experience of preparation of monthly management accounts Experience of Xero accounting system (desirable) Communication: Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal stakeholders and external clients Problem-Solving & Proactive Thinking: Ability to think strategically, looking at the bigger picture and making proactive recommendations for improvement Self-starter with the ability to drive tasks forward independently, whilst managing multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment Strong organisational skills and attention to detail Technical Skills: Proficiency in financial systems, spreadsheets, and data analysis tools Understanding of transactional flows per accounting principles Qualifications: Minimum Qualified By Experience, if not Part Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA Benefits: Salary: Up to £40,000 depending on skill and experience level (pro-rata for part-time working) Holiday Allowance: 25 days of holiday per year, plus English bank and public holidays, plus an additional day of Birthday leave.
